My home made work bench. The top is made from a lamination of 5 sheets
of 3/4" plywood and a 1/4 hardboard cover. The frame was from a much larger
bench that I bought, then took apart. It is very tight-grained fir. |

A shop built 12 inch disk sander. I could only find an 8 inch platen so
it is built out with am MDF disk to 12 inches. What I really like about it is
that it very quiet and the dust collection is very effective. Idea is from an old Shop Notes. |

My Delta Heavy Duty lathe that I modified to have electronic
speed control. The speed control came from Dealers Electric on the web. |

A simple but very useful enhancement to make a standard grinder much more

This is a setup I use to sharpen a variety of lathe tools. Note the fixture base
is indexed to different tool angles. This idea came from a demonstration I saw
by Jon Siegel at the AAW turning Symposium in 2002. |

A simple but very effective steady rest when used for long spindles. Another
idea I saw being used by Jon Siegel at the 2002 AAW turning symposium in Rhode Island. |
